Prospective students will find that there are many college majors from which to choose. Finding a potential industry has its challenges for all students, especially those with a creative flair who want to exercise their abilities as often as possible. There are five majors that require a creative flair.
Art
The first major that definitely requires students to be creative is an art major. Art students are bursting with creativity to be able to find inspiration for the pieces they make, to create interesting and thoughtful pieces, and to be able to look at art and understand the theme and emotion in each piece. They must use their artsy brains to study art history and use that knowledge of the past to take art into the future.
Fashion
A second one is fashion. Students who study this exciting genre must use their creativity to produce new and interesting ideas in the fashion world. They have to find ways to make their designs stand out from the crowd, yet still make buyers want to purchase their designs. They have to be able to find inspiration anywhere and turn their ideas into reality. Budding fashion designers can sell their designs to pay for college.
English
Another area of study that requires a creative flair is English. Some students choose to study English with an emphasis on creative writing. Courses in this area of study require students to write innovative poetry and prose that interests readers and touches on important themes. They have to write using literary symbolism and have to come up with original metaphors, similes, hyperbole, personification and alliteration. Writers who can integrate figurative language with brilliant stories can excel in this area.
Journalism
A fourth major is journalism. Journalism majors must concentrate on how to turn everyday stories into newsworthy events that readers will pay attention to and actually read. They have to find ways to turn facts into exciting articles that won't bore the reader. Journalists have to write original hooks and titles that will grab the readers' attention.
Education
A final topic of study that requires students to be imaginative, inventive and inspired is education. Those who choose to take education coursework ultimately go on to have careers as teachers. Teachers have to constantly find new and innovative ways of delivering material and assessing students. They must change the method of instruction constantly to keep children from getting bored. They must think of ways to get information and concepts across to children when the traditional ways don't work.
Teachers must be able to think on their feet and produce ideas on the spot.
Students interested in these fields of study can find college money to support their educational plans. There are scholarships available to help students pay for college.
