Are you thinking about advancing your career by attending an MBA program? Before you do, have a talk with your employer, if you are employed. You may be surprised to find out they will be very supportive of this. Some will even offer to help pay tuition if you agree to stay on with their company. Interestingly employers find having employees with MBA degrees a great asset to their company. The cost of obtaining an MBA degree can be staggering, so it would be very beneficial to you if your employer offered some sort of compensation towards this education.
Find out from your current employer what your salary raise would be if you went ahead in the MBA program. Many will find the amount to be significant enough to go ahead and enroll. Knowing that you may receive a big promotion and raise once you have earned the degree will help you to go forth with the program, good incentive to study hard. Even if your company can't compensate you for the tuition, the pay raise afterwards may be big enough that you will make the investment back fairly quickly. Plus if your employer favors those with MBA degrees, you will be glad you took the time to do this.
If your employer doesn't offer any compensation towards obtaining the degree consider student loans to help pay for tuition. Weigh the raise you will receive against the amount you will have to borrow to determine if it will be worth it. If it's only a fraction of the loan, it may not be worth it, to continue with your current employer. But if you find your pay raise to enable you to pay the student loans back within a couple of years, you will want to go forward with the education. Or if you find another potential employer, who will be offering a better pay raise, you may consider switching companies while attending school.
Many employers see a huge benefit in hiring those with a degree from an MBA program. They know that an MBA degree holder has a solid practical and theoretical business foundation. They know it's a time consuming process that isn't inexpensive and that a person agreeing to go through such a program is serious about their career. An MBA is a degree that can be used internationally, around the world. Many international companies seek to hire such educated individuals. People with an MBA are suited for fields that require good mathematics skills. People who have successfully been through the MBA program are more than advanced with statistics.
Being in the program requires calculus too.
MBA programs work to mirror actual business environments, training the students in teams. This is especially appealing to larger companies who would view a person who can work with a team in coming up with solutions to issues that work to advance the company's bottom line. The MBA student will be trained in team efforts, teaching the virtues of team building, implementation and problem solving.
