There are times where students require to be given additional guidance after they have gone through a class or even additional training when it comes to what they learn in school. The solution to the above problem lies in finding a reputable tutor, who will enable the student to learn at their own pace while they constantly direct them in the right path. In order to do away with some of the misconceptions that people have about tutors, here is an explanation of what a tutor is to the learning process of the student, as well as what their responsibility is.
The main concern of the tutor is to ensure that the student produces better results in their field of learning. This means that the passing belong wholly to the student, though the tutor directs them in how best to do so. There are students who expect the teacher to do their homework for them since they know everything there is to know about the subject, but this is far from what is supposed to happen. The learning process and all it entails belongs to the students, since when the student passes their exam, all credit goes to them. Therefore, the tutor is not expected to be the one doing everything.
The tutor's input is mostly needed where the learner has a lot of difficulty in the grammar, question structure, interpretation, and analysis of the content taught. The tutor's support must be positive to the learner in all aspects, with them exhibiting a lot of care and professionalism in the way they relate. The tutor will always be punctual to the place of study and show patience when the learner comes ten minutes late. If they must cancel a session, they will inform the student 24 hours in advance, and arrange for a session to compensate the one that was cancelled. The time allocated for tutoring must take into consideration the schedules of both the tutor and the learner, and they must not inconvenience other learners in the process.
The tutor is supposed to create reports about the progress of the student after every class, since their feedback will be used in the following sessions to evaluate the progress as well as to look into the areas of weakness that the learner has.
The tutor has the privilege of not sharing personal information with the learner, though if they so wish, it would have to be in relation to the particular topic they are handling. In addition, the tutor has the right to choose their students. Therefore, they do not have to tolerate rude and disrespectful learners.
