The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) and the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) are vital parts of the application process of private schools, colleges, etc. You won't be getting into private school if you are not able to pass any of these two examinations, or if you get low scores on them. If you want to receive higher scores in school entrance exams, specifically in the SSAT or in the ISEE, you need to take SSAT practice questions, plus other steps of preparing for the SSAT, which are discussed here:

School admission exams usually consist of Math questions, reading comprehension questions, reasoning questions, essay questions, among others. You should not think that mastering some of those categories only will help you in getting into private school - you should master all of those portions, or at least, have good knowledge on all of them, so you'll get positive results in the examinations.

Preparation for these types of test should be done for months, and not for just one week, just a few days, and the like. Your results in school entrance exams, after all, affect where you'll be studying, whether in a 'good school' or in a 'bad school', thus, you need to take these exams seriously and prepare in advance.

There are SSAT practice questions, ISEE practice tests, and so forth, that are available, and one of the techniques on preparing for the SSAT or any other entrance test is for the student to answer those sample tests or questions, as that will help him or her determine what area he or she needs help on.

If you're a student who found out that most of your wrong answers are in Math, you have to review more on that category, or, ask the help of an expert who can up your chances of getting into private school. Do not be afraid to have one on one tutoring sessions done by someone who's good in the specific subject you are 'poor' on so that your overall score in school entrance exams will be high.

Keep in mind too that the examinations are timed, therefore, answering SSAT practice questions, ISEE sample exams, and so on, is important as it can aid you in practicing on how to come up with the correct answers faster. A good advice is to answer all that you can and skip the 'hard questions' first, and then, once you've given all your answers on the ones you find easy, go back to the difficult ones and try to determine the correct answers to them as fast as you can or as quick as the time permits.

Preparing for the SSAT, the ISEE, and all the other school entrance exams, is essential as that will increase your probability of getting into private school or into the school you are interested in joining.
