With so many working couples and single parents these days, starting a preschool could be the niche for you. What a great way to bring more money into the home.

I was reading a status update that a friend of mine posted on a popular social networking service. She was lamenting that she had to work on the weekend when the rest of her family got to stay home. It made me think of a few realities of our time.

For starters, it is almost unheard of for a family to survive on a single income these days. There are even families that have both parents working multiple jobs; anything to get by. On top of that, there are a lot of people that are now working on the weekends, with floating days off. Our work hours are now all across the board, seven days a week, morning and night.

Because of that, the idea of starting a preschool came to mind. Think about it; with both parents in a home working, the children need to go somewhere. With our families being spread across the country, we can't always rely on relatives to watch our children for us. Aside from that, leaving your children with a baby sitter usually means that they will be stuck in front of a television for several hours, not learning much of anything.

At a preschool, children have an opportunity to learn and make new friends. If you are a parent and need a second income, why not start a preschool, stay home with your own children, and help take care of your friend's children in the process?

If you don't want to dive in on it full time, consider the weekends. Like my friend, a lot of people now work on Saturdays and Sundays, and unlike her, the other parent may not be in the picture or able to help out. A weekend preschool might be the answer to a working mother or single parent's prayers, and with government programs and workplaces making allowances for daycare expenses, you could be rewarded for your efforts in a very lucrative manner.

I know that it isn't that easy; there are certifications, diets, and curriculum to consider, but all of that can be taken care of with a little research and effort. If you are looking for something new, a way to bring more income into the family, or a career that could quite possibly be the most rewarding thing you have ever done, consider the possibility of starting a preschool. It could make all of the difference in the world.
