It is exam time once again this year and students all over the country will be feeling the stress of revision and exams, as well as writing their essays. I have personally been there myself and remember a near personal disaster that occurred to me. This article will look at helpful hints for those doing their work and what to do if something goes wrong. Hopefully you will never have to go through the stress of problems during exam time but if you follow these simple tips you should be able to avoid disaster.
First thing is to keep organised, at university or college you will be bombarded with paperwork and information that is incredibly important. Try to keep on top of all of this as you may feel overwhelmed during exam times. A good way to deal with all of your paperwork is to keep a folder of everything you need to keep. If you have moved away from home for the first time then you should keep a separate folder for all of the household information. There is nothing worst than loosing a gas bill or important details, it can be very stressful, extra stress you really do not need.
For text books, buy them second hand online from websites such as Amazon, as they are extremely pricey brand new. You will save lots of money if you buy sensibly and won't be heartbroken if you leave your textbook in the library by accident. You can then go on to sell your books at a later date too to students in the year below to get your money back; it's a great way to recycle!
Make sure that if you use your own laptop or Mac at university that you back up all of your work and have an auto save every few minutes. I personally almost lost a huge amount of my dissertation whilst I was at university. My Mac crashed midway through and I was unable to turn my computer back on. Luckily I managed to find laptop repair in London really quickly and they managed to salvage most of my work. I would not wish this extra stress on anyone near a deadline so save and back up your work as much as possible! Laptop repair in London is easy but in some campuses you may be far away from the city.
Lastly, get to know your campus properly as if any work disaster does strike you know where to seek help from first. You will also find out the little helpful parts of the campus you may have not found otherwise such as the quietest place to study, the busiest time in the canteen to avoid and on sunny days where the best place to work is.
