Taking a look at the major natural disasters in the history of the world can be eye opening in many different ways. First, it will give you a clearer picture of the strength and force that nature has. Man has always tried to conquer different things but due respect has to be given to these forces that we cannot control. Second is that it will be able to visually show you the devastation that is left in the wake of these disasters. The flood damage cleanup process that is undertaken after natural disasters are immense and call on many nations to help out.

The first book is Natural Hazards And Disasters by Donald and David Hyndmann. The authors are actually father and son. They are prominent geologists who give a very analytic approach to these tragic events. In detail, they write about how powerful these disasters can be as they draw a picture of their strength and unpredictability. There are hundreds of images and illustration to give you a real world view of things.

The second book is Natural Hazards: Earth's Processes As Hazards, Disasters And Catastrophes by Edward Keller and Robert Blodgett. This book illustrates the changing face of your environment in the midst of all these natural hazards. Typhoons, earthquakes, landslides and many others affect your surroundings in many ways. Some of the information provided also gives a slight look into the flood damage cleanup programs that have to be set up to address these hazards.

The third book is Natural Disasters by Claire Watts and Trevor Day. The book actually comes from the DK Eyewitness Book series which is marketed towards the youth. The content is very easy to read and understand and obviously comes with many pictures. For parents who would want their children to appreciate the beauty around them a bit more and make them aware of the less fortunate, this book can be of great help. Flood damage cleanup tips as well as simple restoration methods are illustrated in this book so that its younger readers may be exposed to these selfless activities at an early age.

Another book is Hurricanes, Tsunamis And Other Natural Disasters by Andrew Langley. Most of the events described and shown in this book are actually related to excessive flooding. It shows the many damaging effects of floods to the area itself and to the hearts of the victims.

There are many other books out there to help you become aware of the dangers that most people in this world face. So do not leave them alone, and at least get to know their situation and allow yourself to sympathize with your less fortunate neighbors.
