Parents who desire to have their children home schooled have an alternative to the traditional way of learning in Oklahoma. The Organization and its current affiliates do not have any restrictions with regards to any political, religious or philosophical preferences on those who wish to be part of the home school program.
There are plenty of reasons why parents of families prefer home school education and children's safety and health are among them. Being another kind of approach to learning, the Oklahoma resource on having a home schooling form of education has its advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages for an Oklahoma resource on home schooling are:
1. The children's learning phase could be accommodated. And since parents know their children better, they could provide a more suitable learning plan to enhance their child's interests and abilities.
2. Preferences for home schooling as an Oklahoma resource for education provide for more quality family time that makes family relationships stronger. The administration of daily home schooling also takes lesser time than what a normal average learner requires in order to get a normal education since this includes bus rides and other non-academic related school activities. The time spent for such could be better geared for the child to pursue hobbies and interests that would enhance aptitude skills.
3. Other forms of Oklahoma resource for education like going to traditional public schools are sources of stress and anxiety for the child because he or she needs to adjust to a wide circle of environment and different types of personalities.
4. Educational Oklahoma resource for home school activities provide applicable skills such as cooking and carpentry works which are better than some projects than in traditional schools. The child gets to learn hands-on application at a more intensive phase because he or she is required to participate in them at home.
5. Home schooled children could also socialize well because they could have more interaction with people of all ages and not just with their peers of the same age if they go to a normal public school.
6. The best advantage a home schooled child could have over his peers in the alternate educational Oklahoma resource is the safety of children, which the traditional school systems cannot provide.
Since nothing is perfect, there are also disadvantage on an Oklahoma resource on home schooling which are as follows:
1. The responsibility of having quality education rests primarily on the shoulders of the family especially the parents, thus the parents need to know how to implement teaching instructions and be abreast with the latest development in all fields of learning like Science, Math and English.
2. While being in the constant company of the family is an assurance of being safe and healing rifts in relationships, it also curtails the child's independence and formation of identity in being able to cope outside the home away from the protection and security of the family.
3. Home schooling is an alternative method of educational Oklahoma resource that necessitates more effort since parents need to be updated and informed with current news on technology and other forms of study.
