An MBA program is a program where a person can earn a Master's of Business Administration degree from a college that offers higher education programs because this is a higher education degree. You can earn an MBA degree by going to a university or business school full time or through part time courses. People from many academic orders go to school to earn their MBA. An MBA trains an individual to excel in all aspects of upper management and executive areas of business like accounting, finances, human resources, operations management, marketing, team building, leadership and more.

One of the benefits of going through an MBA program is the ability to choose from a vast array of business specialties as mentioned above or doing the courses in general business. If they choose a specialty, they will spend around twenty-five percent of their education time focusing on the chosen specialty. If a student attends full time, the MBA is earned in two years or as little as 18 months. Full time means they attend during the five-week days, with summers off, or go summers and decrease the graduation time. There are accelerated MBA programs comes with an increased and intense course load. This program has very little free time and no summer breaks, though there may be short break between the school semesters.

It is possible to earn a degree from the MBA program through part time courses. Going part time means, you would attend during the evenings during the week and maybe on Saturdays. It generally takes around three years to obtain an MBA degree this way. This option is great for those who already have a full time job and who are unable to attend school as a full time student. Another option called distant learning works by having classes taught through videos, through either mail post or online courses.

An executive MBA program is one that caters to a person with an established career. Generally, these people will need to maintain their employment full time while going to school. An executive MBA degree takes around two years to earn. Many companies will offer incentives for their employees to go through the executive MBA degree program, by paying for tuition, or offering bonuses. Employers normally will go for helping their employees to earn their MBA's because it is an asset to the company. A salary increase is possible after the earning the degree.

There are two other ways to earn this degree through an MBA program, a dual MBA and a mini-MBA. The dual MBA allows the student to earn another degree as well. Many times, a program like this will cost less than going to college to pursue two different degrees on separate occasions. Some schools even allow the student to earn a Bachelor's along with the MBA at the same time, in approximately five years. The mini-MBA is a type of part time courses offering that allows for a type of partial degree, giving hours towards learning business fundamentals.
